About
Learning Care Group (LCG) is the second largest for-profit child care provider in North America. At this time they have over 10 different brands for childcare centers that provide programs and resources for kids between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years. LCG also partnered with different employers to provide child care benefits to their employees. However, while LCG family of brands were ever growing, their employers solutions pages had remained outdated, which had resulted in lower conversion rates.
The Problem
Learning Care Group is a large provider of child care centers and programs, but their online presence did not match the quality of their offerings to potential new employers and partners. Page visitors would drop off early, and visitors did not have a way to contact LCG and their family of brands for employer services.
The Solution
LCG needed a page that provided a more positive experience, conveyed trust in their brand, and highlighted the partnership options they provided. In addition we created a better experience for page visitors to get in contact with a strategic partnership manager that would assist in answering questions and setting them up with services to provide an employers employees.
My Role
My team used the waterfall design process to accommodate the needs of LCG. I worked with a UX Architect, that provided me with wireframes to begin my Visual design phase. My responsibilities included assisting in market and current component analysis, providing high fidelity prototypes of the product pages, working collaboratively with a back end and front end developer, and visual quality assurance. I followed a mobile responsive design strategy, as 70% of LCG Employer Solutions pages were desktop users.
Analyzing Learning Care Groups - employer Solutions Pages
While listening to Learning Care Group discuss the issues they and their visitors experienced with the Employer Solutions pages, my team and I asked ourselves a few questions:
How can simplify and clean up the page layout, so that data is more easily found by visitors?
How might we build trust in Learning Care Group to visitors, to convey that LCG is a valuable benefit to their employees.
The wireframes i was provided
During the project for Learning Care Group, I worked in a collaborative team structure with a UX Architect on the project. Through out his phase of working on wireframes, we would meet to discuss his progress and discuss feedback from the team and LCG. At the initial start of the project LCG had requested to mainly use existing components and not create more than 1 to 2 new components. While the UX Architect was putting together the wireframes he put together one version that used all existing components and one version that included new solutions that would help break up the page layout and create a better experience for visitors.
At the end of wireframes LCG chose to have 5 new components and layouts after seeing how much of a difference they would make. I was ecstatic to hear this, and it lead me into a fun round of visual designs.
Version 1: Mostly Existing Components
Version 2: 5 New Components
Prototyping
Visual design was an exciting and rewarding phase to work on. Learning Care Group was super excited after seeing Version 2 of the wireframes, and it lead them into visual design excited to see life added to the Employer Solutions pages. I took the provided designs and leveraged using and provided recommend updates to their existing page sections, and designed 4 new page components. The final design included a design for Employer Solutions home page and a template for the landing pages.
